When it komes to running an alpha releases of Ubuntu, it kan be at times a major pain. This is expected from any alpha project. On my machine I run both Kubuntu and Ubuntu 11.04 and I kan konfidently say though that Kubuntu is kooking up some nice treats of its own.

Opera is a popular web browser, developed by opera Software. Opera web browser is very popular among small devices such as mobile phones, but this post is based on the desktop version of opera web browser. Opera web browser is available free under proprietary license (with some open source components), for all common operating systems such as GNU/Linux distros (e.g Ubuntu 11.04/10.10.., Linux Mint, Fedora, OpenSuse etc), Windows 7, Mac OS X, FreeBSD.

KateOS, a Polish Linux distribution that uses Xfce and is quite a nice desktop distribution, has rolled out its version 3.6 Beta. Not only are there Linux package updates, but the KateOS team has also improved the boot scripts, packaging scripts, and new graphical configuration tools. The KateOS LiveCD installer will also appear in the 3.6 final release. Package updates include Linux kernel 2.6.19.3, Xfce 4.4.1, X.Org 7.1.1, and GNOME 2.18.1. More information on the KateOS project along with download links is available here.

I understand that most people downloading this want to use it for testing purposes, the version that comes with Ubuntu 11.04 crashes frequently for me. I wanted to give the new 3.x branch a try over the 2.x branch. However, when I downloaded it, I only got instructions for how to run it in testing mode (run the service separately, run the client separately, and have it show up in a separate window). 2ff7e9595c
